A Round of Golf Between Friends: How Pure Wealth Management Launched

Pure Wealth Management officially launched on July 10th at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport alongside 70 of our exclusive guests. A fun-packed afternoon of good food and varying levels of golf ability occurred, and we were more than happy to accommodate the people who matter to us the most: our clients.

Some Sun, Golf and Conversation

The day started with a short briefing from the golf co-ordinator before we all descended on the Roman Road course in our buggies for a shotgun start. At 1pm, the shot was fired ahead of an enjoyable 18 holes of golf.

It certainly wasn’t a level playing field with professional PGA golfers, Premier League footballers and those who had never even touched a golf club before all playing, but the conversation was flowing nonetheless.

By the time the seventh hole rolled around, Rob Johnson, Relationship Director at Pure Wealth Management and, believe it or not, former PGA professional golfer, challenged the field to a closest to the pin contest throughout the day.

His confidence didn’t last long following a terrible start. Rob took it in good spirits, though, as his job, in his words, “is to make sure all guests remain happy”. We wonder what other cover-ups he uses to excuse his golfing skills!

The Launch

The golf wrapped up after five hours for refreshments, with some happier with their performance than others. The evening’s proceedings got underway at 7pm for a well-deserved meal – you can’t go wrong with a bit of pork belly!

Following food, the Directors, Paul Cox and Stuart d’Ivry, took to the stage, thanked our guests and introduced Pure Wealth Management. We touched upon our mission to provide clear, jargon-free solutions to help tackle financial problems, all while communicating our core values of ethics, fairness, integrity and honesty which we’re sure all of our guests and clients share.

After the presentation, the much-coveted golf prizes were handed out. The individual winner was James Thomas of Cardiff-based Savills with an impressive tally of 42. Sure, James is a former golf professional, so it may have been slightly unfair, but you can only play what’s in front of you!

The team competition was a lot tighter, with six teams split by just two points. The winners on the day were Stephen and Kris Horrigan, and Richard Brooks and Chris Thornley. The closest to the pin contest was won by Simon White, and the longest drive was won by Jacob Harrington-Wara. Top golf all around!

Pure Wealth Management would like to thank all who attended – we won’t be forgetting it any time soon.
